Executive Order 12866 directs agencies
to follow certain principles in rulemaking,
such as consideration of alternatives and
analysis of benefits and costs, and
describes OIRA’s role in the rulemaking
process.
The Unified Agenda and Regulatory Plan
provide uniform reporting of data on
regulatory and deregulatory actions under
development throughout the Federal
government, covering over 60
departments, agencies, and commissions.
The Paperwork Reduction Act requires
that agency information collections
minimize duplication and burden on the
public, have practical utility, and
support the proper performance of the
agency's mission.
OMB has added some additional functionality which we hope will help users with our site. The Regulatory Review search now allows users to search for pending reviews as well as concluded reviews. Users can also search on RIN numbers throughout the site. We have also enhanced the EO search page to include more data elements for selection.
Navigation has been updated by creating an updated FAQ/Resources page and an agenda menu option on the top level main navigation bar. Tool tips have been added to the search pages to assist users with definitions.
We hope this will help users who are unfamiliar with some of OMB’s terms related to EO reviews. Please contact us at risc@gsa.gov with your thoughts on these changes or any other questions you have on the site.
