THE ANNUAL TRADE SURVEY IS CONDUCTED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS, AND PROVIDES BENCHMARK ESTIMATES FOR SALES AND INVENTORIES FOR THE MONTHLY WHOLESALE TRADE SURVEY. THE BUREAU OF ECONOMIC ANALYSIS (BEA) USES THESE DATA IN COMPILING THE GNP.
