FDA MUST COLLECT THIS INFORMATION FROM DRUG MANUFACTURERS AND PHYSICIANS TO MONITOR THE SAFETY OF THE CLINICAL USE OF INVESTIGATIONA DRUGS. THE DATA IS USED TO ASSURE SUBJECT SAFETY, THE ETHICAL CONDUCT OF THE STUDY, AND TO INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD THAT THE STUDIES WILL SUPPORT MARKETING APPROVAL.
