Abstract:
THE PURPOSE OF SECTION 8(E), A SELF-IMPLEMENTING STATUTORY REPORTING PROVISION OF TSC IS TO ENSURE THAT ANY NEW INFORMATION THAT REASONABLY SUPPORTS A CONCLUSION THAT A TSCA-COVERED CHEMICAL OR MIXTURE PRESENTS A SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF INJURY TO HEALTH OR THE ENVIRONMENT IS BROUGHT TO EPA'S ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY UPON DISCOVERY BY A PERSON WHO MANUFACTURE IMPORTS, PROCESSES, OR DISTRIBUTES SUCH SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE.
