EXPORTING MEDICAL DEVICES REQUIRES A LETTER OF APPROVAL FROM FOREIGN GOVERNMENT. REVIEW OF LETTER BY FDA TO ASSURE FOREIGN GOVERNMENT HAS NO OBJECTION IS NECESSARY TO MEET THE REQUIREMENT. THIS PREVENTS U.S. FIRMS FROM EXPORTING DEVICES WHICH MAY BE ILLEGAL OR DO NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF COUNTRY.
