Abstract:
THE FEDERAL FISHERIES PERMIT DEALER APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BY THE SUBMISSION OF AMENDMENT 8 TO THE SURF CLAM/OCEAN QUAHOG FISHERY MANAGEMENT PLAN. THE AMENDMENT IMPLEMENTS A SYSTEM OF MANAGEMENT USIN INDIVIDUAL TRANSFERABLE QUOTAS. THE DEALER APPLICATION AND ASSOCIATED PERMIT WILL BE ISSUED TO THOSE ENTITIES PURCHASING SURF CLAIMS OR OCEAN QUAHOGS ENHANCING THE DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM.
