10 CFR PART 74 ESTABLISHES REQUIREMENTS FOR MATERIAL CONTROL AND ACCOUNTING OF SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIAL AND FOR DOCUMENTING THE TRANSFE OF SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIAL. THE RECORDKEEPING AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS ARE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE TIMELY DETECTION OF THE LOSS, THEFT OR DIVERSION OF SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIAL.
