PERSONS WISHING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMERCIAL SNAPPER/GROUPER FISHE OFF THE SOUTH ATLANTIC ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A PERMIT. INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE PERMIT SYSTEM IS USED FOR FISHERY MANAGEMENT, ENFORCEMENT OF FISHING REGULATIONS, AND RESEARCH.
