THIS PROCEDURE REQUIRES THAT CERTAIN WRITTEN ASSURANCES BE PROVIDED BY THE FOREIGN IMPORTER OF SPECIFIC U.S. ORIGIN TECHNICAL DATA TO ASSURE THAT THE DATA IS NOT EXPORTED OR REEXPORTED TO PRESCRIBED DESTINATIONS THE REQUIREMENT OF THESE LETTERS PROVIDES A MEASURE OF SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE WITH ESTABLISHED EXPORT CONTROL POLICY.
