Abstract:
TO ADDRESS CONCERNS EXPRESSED BY NMFS LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENTS, THE NORTHEAST REGION IS SUBMITTING REGULATIONS FOR THE SURF CLAM AND OCEAN QUAHOG FISHERY WHICH WILL REQUIRE VESSELS TO GIVEN ADVANCE NOTICE OF PLANNED FISHING ACTIVITIES BY PHONING LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICES. THIS NOTICE REQUIREMENT WILL FACILITATE MONITORING OF FISHING ACTIVITIES.
