Abstract:
THE ADVANCE MONTHLY RETAIL SALES SURVEY IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF COLLECTING AND TABULATING EARLY MONTHLY ESTIMATES OF RETAIL SALES. THESE PUBLISHED ESTIMATES ARE USED WIDELY BY GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE AGENCIES AS THE EARLIEST INDICATION OF CHANGES IN RETAIL SALES AT THE UNITED STATES LEVEL. WE MAIL THIS SURVEY MONTHLY TO A SAMPLE OF RETAIL FIRMS IN THE UNITED STATES.
