Abstract:
The ADAA of 1996 created a class of drugs, Veterinary Feed Directive drugs, limited to use under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. Distributors of animal feeds containing VFD drugs are required by statute to notify FDA within 30 days of beginning distribution. Notifications provide FDA with a list of distributors legally authorized to distribute VFD drugs.
