In accordance with 5 CFR 1320, the information collection is approved until December 1999. Upon resubmission, the agency will provide evidence of consultation (at least three names, addresses, and phone numbers) with local FACs and others. They agency will also provide more detail on the type of information required by the DAR, the statistical methods used in the Survey, and the information requested of survey respondents.

This regulation sets forth the requirements for an area of the U.S. and its territories to be designated as a natural disaster area by the Secretary of Agriculture, which makes the FSA Emergency Loan Program available to eligible farmers and producers.
