Abstract:
Data collected in this survey provide sales estimates and dollar volume of end-of-month inventory for retail stores. We currently publish on the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) basis. Starting in the spring of 2001, we will publish on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Sales and inventory estimates are used by government and nongovernment users in gauging economic trends. These data are not publicly available from other government or nongovernment sources.
