Abstract:
The NMFS is submitting a Skate Fishery Management Plan Proposed Rule. This submission requests the clearance of a vessel trip report requirement on vessels with an open access skate permit that are not already required to submit logbooks under another permit. This submission also requests clearance to modify the information collected from all vessels subject to mandatory trip reporting, to include landings of skate reported by species and discards of skates reported by one of two size classes. This information is needed to manage the fishery.
