Abstract:
31 U.S.C. 5330 (and implementing regulations under 31 CFR 103.41 (a), (b), and (d)) require money services businesses ("MSB"s) to register with the Department of the Treasury and maintain a current list of agents. The registration and agent list requirements will enable Treasury to locate MSBs, educate them about their reporting and recordkeeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, and ensure that MSBs comply with those requirements.
