Terms of Clearance: Based on input from IRS on the latest burden estimates from the Individual Taxpayer Burden Model, OMB has revised the hour and cost burdens. OMB's approval of the U.S. Individual Income Tax Return and associated forms is extended until December 31, 2007. IRS shall submit its next request for an extension of OMB approval before this expiration, and continue to do so on an annual basis. In its next submission, IRS shall provide an accounting of the hour and cost burden by (1) adjustment, program change due to new statute, and program change due to agency discretion and (2) by reporting, recordkeeping, and third-party reporting. The next submission shall include a full narrative explanation of these types of burden changes.
