Abstract:
Employees who believe that they have been discriminated against by employers, in violation of whistleblower provisions in certain law, for reporting unlawful practices that adversely affect occupational safety and health, and the environment, are required to place their allegations in writing so they may, where appropriate, be investigated by the Department of Labor.

Short Statement:
DOL is amending the regulations governing the employee protection provisions of section 211 of the Energry Reorganization Act of 1974, as amended to implement the statutory changes enacted into law on 08/08/05 as part of the 2005 the Energy Policy Act. This proposal does not make any material or substantive change to the approved collection of information. The increase in burden hours reflects the additional complaints that maybe received. A modified Supporting Statement explaining minor increase is loaded as a "No Material or non substanive change" document.
