Abstract:
The paperwork provisions of the Standard specify requirements for marking the rated load on derricks, preparing certification records to verify the inspection of derrick ropes, and posting warning signs while the derrick is undergoing adjustments and repairs. Certification records must be maintained and disclosed upon request.

The Agency is requesting an adjustment decrease of the burden hours of the information collection requirements in the Standard from 25,104 to 1,356 for a total decrease of 23,748 burden hours. The decrease is due to a reestimation in the number of derricks in general industry, from 10,000 to 500.
