Abstract:
Title XVII of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 16511-16514) authorizes the Secretary of Energy, after consultation with the Secretary of the Treasury, to make loan guarantees for projects that avoid, reduce, or sequester air pollutants or anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases; and employ new or significantly improved technologies as compared to commercial technologies in service in the United States at the time the guarantee is issued. This collection of information is necessary in order for DOE to identify projects that are eligible for loan guarantees and that DOE may invite to apply for a loan guarantee.
