The purpose of the Ionizing Radiation Standard and its information collection requirements are to document that employers are providing their workers with protection from hazardous ionizing radiation exposure.

The Agency is requesting an adjustment increase of 5,686 burden hours from the current level of 39,531 hours to 45,217 hours. This request is being made because of the increased growth rate from previous estimates of exposed workers and the workers monitored by employers. There is also an adjustment increase in cost from $2,341,440 to $5,691,144 (an increase of $3,349,704) resulting from an increase in the cost of the monitoring badges.
