Abstract:
The purpose of this standard and its information collection requirements is to provide protection for workers from the adverse effects associated with occupational exposure to vinyl chloride. Employers must monitor worker exposure, reduce worker exposure to permissible exposure limits, and provide medical examinations and other information to workers pertaining to vinyl chloride.

Short Statement:
The Agency is requesting an adjustment decrease in hours from 711 to 549 hours, a 162 burden hour reduction. The reduction is a result of fewer VC and PVC establishments used for this standard. There is also a decrease in cost under Item 13 from $48,928 to $40,888 (a total decrease of $8,040). This decrease is a result of fewer estimated number of workers exposed to the above VC exposure levels. The number of workers in both VC and PVC facilities is approximately 3,968, a decrease of 1,368 workers. The currently approved ICR estimates a total of 32 establishments. This proposed ICR estimates a total of 26 establishments.
