Abstract:
The Department of Energy is authorized to enter into voluntary agreements with U.S. industry under section 106 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Data will be collected annually from industry pledge participants on progress made towards the reduction of energy intensity goals established by the voluntary agreements. The data collected will be used to evaluate the success of the voluntary agreements and to report results to congress.

Short Statement:
Better Buildings, Better Plants (formerly known as the Save Energy Now LEADER initiative) is a national initiative to drive a 25% reduction in industrial energy intensity in ten years. This initiative is sponsored by AMO within EERE to reinforce energy efficiency as a profitable business model and expand markets for new energy technologies. The Better Buildings, Better Plants Pledge Program is a voluntary program for any company interested in reducing its energy intensity by 25 percent or more in ten years.
