Short Statement:
This is a revision of a currently approved information collection. The total burden hours will decrease by 107,850 burden hours for reporting and recordkeeping in the OMB information collection inventory. Due to adjustments, there is an increase in the reporting burden of SFAs by 5,215 hours for the additional time needed to complete form FNS-742 due to its proposed revision and also incorporates the reporting burden decrease of households by -113,070 burden hours for reporting eligibility information submitted on applications and the increase of 5 burden hours for State agencies for recordkeeping of agreements for conducting direct certification. Changes requested with this revision pertain mainly to program changes alone. Other reasons for changes are related to frequency of response and/or change in amount of time required to complete a task. However, these program adjustments did not amount to change in overall burden numbers. Errors related citations, updates in citation text were also corrected in this revision. All details are included in bold in burden tables as well as explained clearly in burden narrative.
