Short Statement: Requests of this nature have begun to decline with the introduction of TreasuryDirect and will continue to decline as a result of the discontinuation of the sale of paper savings bonds as of January 1, 2012. A reduction of 8,000 responses resulted in a decrease of 2,400 hours attributed to a program change due to agency discretion. Total burden hours requested this submission is 24,000.
