Abstract:
This submission includes all information collection requirements used by FMCSA in support of the Title 49 CFR part 375, Transportation of Household Goods in Interstate Commerce, Consumer Protection Regulations. This information collection request (ICR) is being revised due to a Direct Final Rule (DFR) entitled, "Transportation of Household Goods in Interstate Commerce; Consumer Protection Regulations: Household Goods Motor Carrier Records Retention Requirements." The DFR reduces the record retention period from three years to one year that household goods (HHG) motor carriers must retain documentation of an individual shipper's waiver of receipt of printed copies of consumer protection materials. It also amends the regulations to clarify that a HHG motor carrier is not be required to retain waiver documentation from any individual shippers for whom the carrier does not actually provide services.
