Abstract:
The Petroleum Marketing Program surveys collect information on costs, sals prices, and distribution for crude oil and petroleum products. Data are published in petroleum publications and in multi-fuel reports. Respondents are refiners, first purchasers of domestic crude oil, gas plant operators, resellers/retailers, motor gasoline whoesalers, suppliers, distributors and importers.

Short Statement:
Respondent burden has declined by 65,107 (121,293-56,186) hours from the previous OMB clearance. This is because the monthly EIA-782B has been discontinued (program change), resulting in a reduction of 62,010 hours, and a reduction of 3,098 hours due to dynamic populations on several other surveys - the EIA-782C (+378), the EIA-821 (-3,771), and the EIA-888 (+138) as indicated in Table A4 of the supporting statement part A. The program change of -24,804 annual responses is due to discontinuing the EIA-782C, while the remaining change in annual responses is due to the other changes in sample sizes of the other surveys noted above. Note that the smaller, more frequent surveys (EIA-782C and EIA-888) increased respondents, causing the number of annual responses to increase, while the larger less frequent EIA-821 reduced respondents, causing the annual burden to drop.
