Abstract:
The purpose of this Standard and its information collection requirements is to provide protection for workers from adverse health effects associated with occupational exposure to Methylenedianiline (MDA) in General Industry. Employers must monitor worker exposures within the permissible exposure limits, provide workers with medical examinations and training, and establish and maintain worker exposure-monitoring and medical records.

Short Statement:
The Agency is requesting an adjustment increase of 73 burden hours from 297 to 370 hours. The adjustment is the result of increasing the job hire rate from 10% to 25.6%, resulting in an increased number of workers: receiving initial medical examinations, being trained, receiving exposure monitoring training, and requesting access to records. Also, this adjustment occurred because of the increase in the methods of compliance hours section. There is an overall adjustment increase in capital costs $6,566 (from $21,416 to $27, 982) resulting from an increase in the number of workers receiving medical examinations and, the cost of a medical examinations increasing from $168 to $187. In addition, the total cost of exposure monitoring increased as a result of more workers being covered by the exposure monitoring provisions and an increase in the cost of laboratory analysis from $107 to $119.
