Abstract:
Under 26 USC 5812, ATF requires respondents to apply for the transfer and registration of a National Firearms Act (NFA) firearm by completing ATF F 5 (5320.5), Application for Tax Exempt Transfer and Registration of Firearm. The form is used to apply for permission to transfer an NFA firearm exempt from transfer tax based on statutory exemptions. The form establishes eligibility and exemption.
