There is a decrease in the estimated hour burden associated with this information collection due to the collection of more accurate data on the number of Form I-601 filings since the previous information collection. There is a decrease in the estimated cost burden associated with this information collection due to more accurate, which are based on the collection of more accurate data on the number of Form I-601 filings since the previous information collection. In addition, USCIS has removed biometrics processing from this information collection because biometrics processing for the overseas cases are done at the consulate as part of the immigrant visa application. Biometrics for applicants who are in the U.S. are done in conjunction with the adjustment application (I-485), not the I-601. There is no change in the information being collected.

On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that the collection of information encompassed by this request complies with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR 1320.8(b)(3).
