Abstract:
The Federal regulations governing the WIC Program (7 CFR part 246) require that certain program-related information be collected and that full and complete records concerning WIC operations are maintained. The information reporting and record-keeping burdens are necessary to ensure appropriate and efficient management of the WIC program. .

Short Statement:
This information collection is currently approved with 4,020,497 burden hours and 60,961,548 responses. With this revision, FNS estimates that the burden hours will decrease by 247,899 hours due to program changes and adjustments. FNS estimates that program changes related to the Implementation of the Electronic Benefits Transfer-related Provisions of Public Law 111-296 Final Rule will increase burden hours by 8,802 hours. However, this is offset by a decrease of 256,701 hours due to an adjustment, for an overall decrease of 247,899 burden hours. FNS also estimates that the program changes and adjustments will decrease responses by 6,268,725 responses. The final rule concerning the Electronic Benefits Transfer added 271 responses as a program change. However, this increase is offset by a decrease of 6,268,996 responses due to adjustments, for an overall decrease of 6,268,725 responses. With these program changes and adjustments, FNS estimates that this collection will have 3,772,598 burden hours and 54,692,823 responses.
