Short Statement: • The collection of information is being revised to the actual title of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Form 8420-8, Application for Pilot School Certification. • The number of 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 141 pilot schools has been revised as the current number of schools has changed. • The economic burden has been revised based on the number of part 141 pilot schools. • Private-sector and federal wage rates have been adjusted upwards, to account for fringe benefits and overhead. • The FAA is changing the name of the ICR. The former name, “Pilot Schools -- FAR 141,” is misleading, as “FAR” typically refers to Federal Acquisition Regulations, and is no longer in favor as an acronym for “Federal Aviation Regulations.” • This ICR no longer includes 14 CFR 141.5, because that section no longer exists and should not have been included in previous submissions. The burdens previously accounted for under 141.5 are currently under 141.57.
