Short Statement:
The Department submits this ICR as a revision, though without change to existing requirements, as one of the previously approved information collections, conformance records, is now broken into two information collections, conformance records and indexed conformances. Those figures are now separated as they are two different actions, and as such, with the addition of indexed conformances, there appears to be an increase due to agency discretion. However, there is a corresponding decrease in the conformance record figures to reflect the change. The overall burden, however, has increased, because compared to 2020, when the Department last extended this paperwork package, there are now fewer conformances, but there were a greater number of contracts, which, coupled with wage increases, resulted in greater costs. In addition, benefit and overhead costs, which were not required to be calculated when this paperwork package was last extended, were included in the calculations for annualized respondent costs.
