Short Statement:
This collection is currently approved with 4,547,099 hours, 48,798,800 responses, and 6,913,189 respondents. Based on this currently approved burden, FNS expects that the proposed rule titled "Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC): Revision in the WIC Food Packages, will reduce the burden hours 2,177,566.96 hours, the responses by 13,755,588 responses, and the respondents by 150 respondents. The changes to the responses and the respondents are due to program changes resulting from the rule. For the burden hours, FNS estimates a 2,180,990 hour increase due to program changes resulting from the rule, with an additional 3,423 hours being reduced due to the recategorization of non-profit local agencies as businesses. Overall, FNS expects that as a result of this rule, this collection will have 6,724,666 hours, 62,554,388 responses, and 6,913,039 respondents. Please note that these estimates contain a requirement that is currently in use without OMB approval. FNS is working on a separate revision to this collection to obtain approval for this requirement. Please see the supporting statement for additional information.
