Terms of Clearance:
The agency made minor modifications to the form, including minor changes to the collected demographic information. No later than 12 months from the date of approval, the agency will publish a 60-day notice for this OMB control number and specifically solicit comment on suggestions for better analyzing and minimizing the burdens experience by families in supporting the completion of the family report by the PHA or other housing provider with a particular focus on understanding and minimizing the burdens associated with income determination. In soliciting comment, the agency should specifically seek feedback on (1) how to better analyze, including quantify, the (A) time (or other costs) families spend providing responses that are collected on the family report ; (B) time (or other costs) families spend providing documentation or evidence that is either explicitly or implicitly required as a part of being responsive to the information collected via the family report; (C) other burdens, consistent with OMB M-Memo M-22-10, that families experience associated with completing the family report ; and (2) how to further minimize the burden of the family report on families, with a particular focus on minimizing burdens associated with documentation or developing evidence associated with income determinations, improvements to data-sharing or data-matching, lessons learned from temporary or waiver policies adopted during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, and regulations or sub-regulatory guidance related to income determinations. The agency is further advised that revisions to the instructions or subregulatory guidance related to the process of information collected under this OMB control number, including publication of the Full Instruction Booklet or subregulatory guidance on documentation requirements, are covered under the PRA.

Abstract:
Tenant data is collected understand demographic, family profile, income, and housing information for participants in the Public Housing, Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, Section 8 Project Based Certificate, Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation, and Moving to Work Demonstration programs. This data also allows HUD to monitor the performance of programs and the performance of public housing agencies that administer the programs.
