| Abstract: The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is modifying the rules of practice published June 10, 2008, with respect to ex parte appeals before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. For example: (1) Deleting portions requiring petitions to file an extension of time or to increase the page limit; (2) deleting some formatting requirements for briefs and requests for rehearing; (3) deleting portions requiring identification of arguments previously presented to the Examiner; and (4) deleting portions requiring a list of technical terms at oral argument. | |
