Title: ●Assistance to States for the Education of Children with Disabilities--Maintenance of Effort
Abstract: The Secretary proposes to amend regulations under part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). These regulations govern the Assistance to States for the Education of Children with Disabilities program, including the Preschool Grants program. The Secretary seeks public comment on these proposed amendments regarding the level of effort required of a local educational agency (LEA) in the year after it fails to maintain effort under section 613(a)(2)(A)(iii) of the IDEA and the consequence of the failure to maintain effort.
