EPA/OCSPP RIN: 2070-AJ63 Publication ID: Fall 2011
Title: TSCA Reporting Requirements; Revisions
Abstract: EPA is developing a proposal to change an existing reporting requirement under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) to provide for quicker review of health and environmental data for more effective protection of public health and the environment and increased transparency. Specifically EPA is considering changes to 40 CFR 792.185, entitled "Reporting of Study Results" to include "Robust Summaries" of test results with the submission of test data. Robust summaries are intended to provide sufficient information to allow a technically qualified person to make an independent assessment of a given study report without having to go back to the full study report, and to also allow evaluation of the proposed test plan. A robust summary therefore reflects the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the full study report, which can either be an experiment or in some cases an estimation or prediction method.
