Title: ●Statewide and Nonmetropolitan Transportation Planning; Metropolitan Transportation Planning  
Abstract: This rulemaking would propose amendments to the regulation (part 450 of title 23 of the Code of Federal Regulations and part 613 of title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations) under which the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) respectively administer the Metropolitan Transportation Planning program authorized by section 134 of title 23, U.S. Code and by section 5303 of title 49 U.S. Code and the Statewide and Non-Metropolitan Transportation Planning program authorized by section 135 of title 23, U. S. Code and section 5304 of title 49 of the U.S. Code. Sections 1201 and 1202 of the MAP-21 replace 23 U.S.C. 134 and 135, to require a continuing, comprehensive, and coordinated transportation planning and programming process in metropolitan areas, nonmetropolitan areas, and Statewide.
