| Title: ●Hazardous Materials: Temporary Reduction of Registration Fees | |
| Abstract: This rulemaking would amend the HMR requirements associated with the statutorily-mandated registration and fee assessment program for persons who transport, or offer for transportation, certain categories and quantities of hazardous materials. For all registrants PHMSA would be providing a temporary one-year decrease in the fees for registration year 2013-2014. This rulemaking is necessary to address the unexpended funds from the 2011-2012 registration year and fund the national Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grants program at approximately $28,000,000. Following the 2013-2014 registration period, the fees for all registrants will return to the current 2012-2013 fee levels. | |
