HHS/FDA RIN: 0910-AB96 Publication ID: Fall 2004
Title: Requirements Pertaining to Sampling Services and Private Laboratories Used in Connection With Imported Food
Abstract: The final rule would establish requirements for importers and other persons who use sampling services and private laboratories in connection with imported food. For example, the rule would pertain to persons who use sample collection services and private laboratories, and would describe some responsibilities for such persons, sample collection services, and private laboratories. These responsibilities would include recordkeeping requirements to ensure that the correct sample is collected and analyzed, and a notification requirement if a person intends to use a sampling service or a private laboratory in connection with imported food. The final rule is intended to help insure the integrity and scientific validity of data and results submitted to FDA.
