Title: Revise the Pacific Halibut Regulations for Subsistence Fishing by Changing the Location of the Village of Kanatak Tribal Headquarters
Abstract: The subsistence halibut regulations would be amended to correct the location of the headquarters for the Village of Kanatak tribe and the assigned International Pacific Halibut Commission halibut regulatory area in which members of the tribe may subsistence fish for Pacific halibut. The action would change the Village of Kanatak's headquarters location from Egegik to Wasilla and the corresponding halibut regulatory area in which subsistence fishing by tribal members may occur from halibut regulatory Area 4E to Area 3A. The intent of the correction is to remove restrictions on individual members of the Kanatak tribe to subsistence fish for halibut caused by inaccurate assignment of the tribe's headquarters in the original implementing regulations for subsistence halibut fishing.
