Title: ●Fisheries in the Western Pacific; Pelagic Fisheries; Purse Seine Closed Areas Around American Samoa 
Abstract: The Western Pacific Fishery Management Council recommends that U.S. tuna purse seine vessels be excluded from operating within 75 nm around the islands of American Samoa. Amendment 19 to the Fishery Management Plan for the Pelagic Fisheries of the Western Pacific Region intends to balance the needs and concerns of the American Samoa small-boat pelagic fishery with those of the larger purse seine fishery.
