Title: Technology Innovation Program
Abstract: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) amends its regulations to implement the Technology Innovation Program (TIP). Section 3012 of the America COMPETES Act (Pub. L. 110-69) established TIP for the purpose of assisting U.S. businesses and institutions of higher education or other organizations, such as national laboratories and nonprofit research institutes, to support, promote and accelerate innovation in the U.S. through high-risk, high-reward research in areas of critical national need. Section 3012(f) of the America COMPETES Act requires the NIST Director to promulgate regulations implementing the TIP.
