Title: Documents Incorporated by Reference–API Spec 14A
Abstract: MMS has concerns about testing requirements for safety valves for critical wells having a rated working pressure greater than 15,000 psig, or temperatures greater than 350 degrees. This rule would incorporate by reference the latest edition (11th) of American Petroleum Institute’s (API) Specification for Subsurface Safety Valve (SSSV) Equipment, API Specification 14A into the regulations and add a new requirement for the submission of information concerning safety valve design and testing.
