Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Removing the Morelet’s Crocodile From the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife
Abstract: We received a petition to remove the endangered Morelet’s crocodile (Crocodylus moreletii) from the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife. We have determined that the petitioner presented substantial scientific and commercial information indicating that the action may be warranted. We must now determine whether a status review shows that the removal, as petitioned, is warranted under the Act. If it is warranted, we will publish a proposed rule, as well as a final rule. The Morelet’s crocodile is a freshwater crocodilian species native to Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala.
