Title: Eagle Permits; Take Necessary To Protect Interests in a Particular Locality
Abstract: These permit regulations would authorize limited take of bald and golden eagles under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (BGEPA), where the take to be authorized is associated with otherwise lawful activities. The regulations also would establish permit provisions for intentional take of eagle nests in rare cases where their location poses a risk to human safety or to the eagles themselves. We originally proposed regulations for these purposes on June 5, 2007 (72 FR 31141). We bifurcated the rulemaking and finalized the other portion under 1018-AV11 (the original RIN) on May 20, 2008.
