Title: Voyageurs National Park--Special Regulations
Abstract: Before establishment of Voyageurs National Park and continuing through today the use of motorized boats has been allowed on a limited number of interior lakes (about 6) that are not road accessible. Snowmobile use on these same lakes is permitted through special regulations. Current regulations prohibit motorboat use on lakes not accessible by a road and therefore a special regulation is needed to allow motorboat use to continue. Motorized watercraft were allowed before the establishment of the park in 1975 and are currently allowed by policy.
