Title: Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL), and William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (DL) Programs 
Abstract: These regulations amend the student financial assistance regulations pursuant to section 492 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. The regulations focus on income-based repayment plans in the FFEL and DL programs, DL public service loan forgiveness, economic hardship deferment, HEROES waivers and benefits for active duty military borrowers, and the definition of not-for-profit lender for the purpose of differential special allowance subsidy payments to lenders in the FFEL program.
