Abstract: The Commission issued a Revised Policy Statement to provide guidance to the regulated community as to its enforcement policies concerning its governing statutes, regulations and orders. The Commission also included in the Statement information as to its two years of experience in applying its enhanced enforcement tools under the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which among other things, granted the Commission new civil penalty authority under the Natural Gas Act and enhanced civil penalty authority under Part II of the Federal Power Act and the Natural Gas Policy Act of 1978.
